Craft #10 – Ahoy, Pirate Card Ahead

21 Jan

I had a friend who loved pirates.

I say had, because she was saying a lot of nasty things about people behind their backs, which made me wonder what she said about me… We aren’t friends, anymore.

I actually made her the girl version of this card (with pigtails and pink shorts)

This was such early days with the Silhouette that I bought both the ship and the pirate figure from the Silhouette program.
I also learned the hard way that not all paper cuts well- the brown I used for the boat, and the skin colour paper were both horrifying to work with.

For the inside I went very simple- I actually printed the images from Google, typed the sentiment and cut around them by hand (easier than trying to line them up and have the machine cut them), re outlined them (as I had lost some cutting) and added glitter glue to the gold in the treasure chest. Some ‘bubbly’ paper for the background completed the ‘under the sea’ look.

I love this. The glitter glue accents look great too.
